An English language forum in Thailand has closed down after threats from Drew Noyes, publisher of the Pattaya Times and Brian Goudie, a fake lawyer working currently out of Koh Samui.

SUBZEROSIAM which had carried many critical reports of both men said today the decision was made because there were 600,000 posts on the site and posters were also exposed to legal action.

(PIC Goudie)
The site was not closed as a result of any comments made about either Goudie or Noyes but because indecent material had been historically posted on the site and people had been allowed to comment on it.

It is believed it will restart under another name.

An anonymous complaint had been made to a Bangkok school where one of the administrators worked , pointing out the indecent material, and pointing the finger at a site moderator.

As a result his educational contract was terminated while he has no record in Thailand or elsewhere. He did move straight to another job.

Most forums in Thailand are very protective and rarely disclose the identity of owners and/or moderators.

Noyes is suing a moderator of SUBZEROSIAM for suggesting he might be gay by using photo-shopped pictures of himself and Goudie at a Gay Parade.  Goudie had also  issued several threats.

COMMENT: There was probably no reason to close the site other than perhaps it was too much work with little reward. But there’s a caution for people running websites in Thailand.  They have to be carefully monitored. I can think of several which could be closed immediately (under Thai laws) if someone had a mind to do so. Goudie and Noyes get away with libels by publishing them on Google Blogspot sites anonymously. Its not foolproof though.

Disclaimer: Drew Noyes is not gay to our knowledge.

  1. This is the mark of these cowards. Threats, bluff, hot air and pap all done in anonymity.
Utterly, ridicules, pathetic but so typical of those wretched excuses of humanity.
As I've commented previously and you've mentioned above, what about the other forums in Thailand that have "special members sections" where anything and everything can be posted....?

    1. Noyes may be doing the Thai authorities a favour. It's time they looked at those forums which allow flaming via anonymity and the publishing of libelous and biased posts.

  2. Noyes. Gouldie. You are cowards who pick on people who cant fight back because of your connections. Your connections will be in the same boat as you soon. Then the gloves are off. I hear theres a welcome party being arranged with a big tiger. Tick tock tick tock

  3. Given the history of both Noyes and Goldie, it's just totally pathetic they have the gall to report someone for indecent pictures on a public web board. It's sickening to see these two cretins using the liable laws in an attempt to protect their devious dealings and silence people who are only trying to warn the innocent about their evil deeds. Both are unquestionably mentally ill, something happened in their childhood that has left them unable to behave with any sense of morality or ethics. They prey on the vulnerable and people in crisis, they need to be removed from our society.

  4. Goudi looks gay in that photo and its safe to say, where they be smoke, they be fire. Looks like he is arm in arm with the guy in red....he has good taste in men, redhead by the looks.

  5. Yet, "Topper", the (erstwhile) admin of said forum had no problems disclosing my real name on the threads regarding Mr. Noyes and yourself.
It seemed to me he deliberately placed himself in litigation's way in order to gain hits on the site, and will now... what? My best guess; counter sue Noyes for damages as he's realized one cannot sue for libel damages to one's fake avatar forum name.
Oh, what a litigious web we weave..

mmm, Can I sue a forum that consistently allows posts that I engage in sex with animals?

    1. Could you explain how I knew your real name, Christy? Am I psychic? How could anyone know your real name unless you put it out there?

Were the mods of SZS freelancing NSA contractors working in Thailand to avoid the consequences of their rogue actions?

Was it that you've had a history of using your real name to comment on various forums?

Personally, since you're so obviously a well educated woman who would never use her real name, I'm going for the NSA explanation.

    2. Well " Topper" I, like many other "highly educated" people do use my real name to comment on real news sites. (In fact, it is my opinion anonymous comments should not be published on such sites.) That does not excuse, or even explain your gleaning my ID from posts here, and then revealing it under my pseudonym on SZS banter/ discussion forum

You, as an admin of such a site, have a responsibility to not disclose personal info to other members. A responsibility you ignored in an effort to appear... well not sure why, but sure it has something to do with Thai based internet- forum -warrior type's need to appear all knowing of all things and to use any personal knowledge to bully and harass those whose opinions differ.

(Many thanks AD for this right of response.)

    3. Hi Christy,

Remember, if you make your personal information anywhere on the internet public, others can and probably WILL use it against you. Welcome to the real world.

  6. Everyone has their information public, somewhere.
You still have a responsibility to not use any knowledge you have to ID one of your users and to not use their name on any thread.
So you used it against me? Well that's an improvement of when you denied doing it.
Now, please admit you were wrong and apologize.

Internet bullies who can't take the heat is what's real.
