The following briefing by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra was tonight issued to the Diplomatic Corps and Foreign Correspondents and international organisations by the News Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before the start of the Bangkok shutdown. It is followed by the MFA chronology of events (unnofficial translation) which has preceded the current volatile political situation.



  1. Only thing I have noticed is my beer money is lasting a little longer at the moment. And off course I read that most Embassy's are advising on what do do over the forthcoming protests but I suppose it is a week end and The British Embassy don't want to scaremonger and cause any diplomatic unrest to their Thai friends so as far as Brits are concerned ITS BUSINESS AS USUAL in Thailand but don't forget not to hire a motorbike but if you do , then do not take drugs when driving and wear a helmet.
